Get ready to get muddy and creative! This hands-on session is the perfect introduction to the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel.

We'll begin with a short demonstration to show you the key techniques. Then it’s your turn to have a go at centring, shaping, and creating your own pieces. You’ll choose your favourite two to keep.

If time allows, you can decorate your pieces using colourful underglazes. If not, don’t worry — you’ll simply choose the glaze colour you'd like, and we’ll finish them off for you after the first firing.

We’ll also give you a quick behind-the-scenes look at our kiln room, so you can see how your pots go from wet clay to finished ceramics.

Suitable for ages 12 and above.  Get in touch if you have younger people interested in taking part.

Before you arrive:

• Long hair must be tied back

• Keep fingernails short — long nails make it tricky!

• Please bring your own apron or an old towel.

No experience necessary — just bring your enthusiasm!
