An event every week that begins at 12:00 pm on Friday, repeating until 13 December, 2024
Join us on our 6-week pottery wheel ceramic course! This course is suitable for beginners and those with experience. If you are a beginner, you will learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel over 4 weeks. Returning potters will have a variety of challenges to extend and develop skills previously learnt. The last 2 weeks of the course you will explore the world of glazes, transforming your ceramics with a world of colour.
Everything you need to know before starting your pottery wheel course.
Suitable for ages 12 and up.
Each class runs for 2 hours.
– Saturday: 10:00am – 12:00pm
– Sunday: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
– Monday: 11:00am – 1:00pm
– Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Even if you arrive early, classes will always begin at the scheduled time. We use the time beforehand to set up and prepare for your session, so we kindly ask that you wait until the class officially begins.
Thank you for your understanding — we can’t wait to get muddy with you!
Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled, but we’ll do our best to help you catch up within the course period.
If we need to cancel a session, we will ensure that it is made up at a later date.
Pottery Wheel Course:
You’ll throw several pieces throughout the course, but you will keep 4 to 6 final pieces. This helps us manage our firing schedule and ensures there’s time for glazing.
– An apron or towel
– Short fingernails
– Long hair tied back
If you don’t finish glazing all your pottery by the end of the course, we will clear-glaze any remaining bisque-fired pieces for you.
If you’d prefer to glaze them yourself, you can book an additional glazing session at £30 for a 2-hour slot. (Prices subject to change.)
Participants may keep extra pots beyond the included number with prior agreement. Firing fees for additional pieces are calculated by cubic inch.
Extra glazing time for these pieces can also be booked at £30 for a 2-hour session, or £10 per item. (Prices subject to change.)
Booking a course is a firm commitment, and we are unable to offer refunds.
If you need to cancel, we will do our best to fill your space. If we’re able to find a replacement, you’ll receive a voucher to rebook a future course/workshop/event. Alternatively, you’re welcome to nominate a friend to attend in your place.
Due to the nature of kiln-fired ceramics, slight imperfections can occur. On rare occasions, pieces may crack or shatter during the firing process.
While we take every precaution to prevent this, some factors are beyond our control.
